A contractor who dammed rivers in Greece built a tiny town on Lebanon’s north edge.

Ulen, an international contractor from Boone County, built dams, railroads and water systems around the world, from the Marathon Dam in Greece to New York City's Shandaken Tunnel. In the 1920s he helped create the Town of Ulen and the Ulen Country Club on Lebanon's north edge, and in 1929 moved his company's headquarters to Lebanon.
A short walk or bike ride from Memorial Park. The club and golf course are private: stay on the public streets, read the markers from the drive, and don't enter the course.
