Ride or walk the old B&O railroad from Green Street to a mural tunnel and a two-time Indy 500 winner.

Play this quest in Shenanigo

The B&O Trail follows a railroad line that was abandoned in 1990. Hall and Diana Virgil spent more than 20 years turning it into a trail, and the first paved section opened in Brownsburg in 2009. This quest follows the town's stretch from the Green Street trailhead, past Cardinal Park, through two tunnels, to Virgil Park and the mural-painted tunnel under the Ronald Reagan Parkway.

About 3 miles each way (6 round trip) on smooth pavement. Bikes: keep under the posted 15 mph, call "on your left," and ride single file. Use the push-button signal at Green Street, and stop and look both ways at Odell Street, Hornaday Road and CR 900 E. Cardinal Park and Virgil Park have parking and restrooms. The trail is open dawn to dusk in Hendricks County. Bring water.

Play safe: stay on public sidewalks and grounds, respect private property, and never read your phone while driving.
