The Brownsburg Photo Marathon

Nine photo challenges from Town Hall to the creek, and a camera roll worth keeping.

Play this quest in Shenanigo

A long, slow photography quest from downtown Brownsburg to White Lick Creek. Each step teaches a trick the pros use: leading lines, texture, reflections, framing, symmetry and silhouettes. The route has everything for it: a paved greenway that curves off into the trees, old bark, moving water and a boardwalk.

Best in the late afternoon, when the light slants through the trees. Plan on two to three hours with breaks. Be respectful at the 9/11 memorial: it's a place to remember, not a backdrop. Cross Green Street (State Road 267) only at crosswalks and signals: it is the busiest road in town. Brownsburg parks and trails are open 5 a.m. to dusk, and dogs are welcome on a short leash.

Play safe: stay on public sidewalks and grounds, respect private property, and never read your phone while driving.
