A Brownsburg whodunit (the race, the flag and all the characters are fictional). After the Great Cardboard Car Race in Arbuckle Acres, the checkered flag, signed by every driver since the first race, disappeared from the finish line.

The suspects:
• Penny Albright, the race announcer, who collects racing souvenirs
• Gus Tolliver, the rival team's pit boss, who lost the final by a nose
• Rae Kim, the teen volunteer who packed up the finish line
• Coach Barlow, the starter with the whistle, who said the flag was "too nice to wave"

Four evidence notes are hidden at exact spots between Main Street and the White Lick Creek Greenway. Open the finder near each landmark, read every note, then name the culprit. About 1.5 miles on foot. Cross Green Street (State Road 267) only at crosswalks and signals: it is the busiest road in town.

Play safe: stay on public sidewalks and grounds, respect private property, and never read your phone while driving.
